ARTIST

My photography began with an interest in abandoned and forgotten places throughout South Florida. I was drawn to spaces that once held people, activity, and purpose but now sit empty within a constantly changing environment. Photographing these places taught me to pay attention to light, composition, color, and the smaller details that can completely change the feeling of an image.

As my work developed, I began introducing objects from childhood into these abandoned spaces. Toys became a way for me to connect memories of childhood with places that had also been left behind. The contrast between something colorful and familiar and a deteriorating environment allowed me to explore ideas of nostalgia, time, isolation, and what remains after people leave.

A lot of my process comes from exploring. I may enter a location with an idea of what I want to photograph, but the final image often comes from finding something unexpected and adjusting to the space. Over time, I have learned to experiment more with perspective, natural light, staging, and composition rather than forcing an image I had already planned.

While abandoned spaces have played a major role in developing my style, they are only one part of my photography. I also photograph landscapes, people, architecture, and everyday moments that catch my attention. Across all of my work, I am interested in finding scenes that might otherwise be overlooked and showing them from my own perspective.
